The creator of the iconic bunny Miffy, was Dutch artist Dick Bruna in 1955. While on a family holiday he would tell his son a tale of a white bunny that would visit their garden each night and it was this that became the inspiration for his picture books. He also changed the format in which the books where printed, giving them a more sturdy cover and redesigning them to fit better into the little hands of his target audience. Her adventures are now illustrated in over 30 titles and have sold over 85 million copies and inspired a television series.
The books have been credited with awards ranging from Gold in 2014 for the ‘Best Classic Book’ at the Junior Design Awards to 1st place in the ‘Best Baby Keepsake’ Category at the Loved By Parents Awards. The UK plush toys licence belongs to manufacturer Rainbow Designs and is distributed by Baby Brands Direct to nursery retailers.
