Why are baby baths such good sellers?
Bathtime is a huge part of the daily routine with a small baby - and continues to be so through the toddler stage and beyond. It's also probably one of the most nerve-wracking times for very new parents. Babies are tiny, precious and wriggly - when they are wet they are even harder to handle! So anything that can make a parent feel more confident and comfortable in the bathroom when it’s bath time for the baby is going to be considered a vital piece of baby kit.
One of the benefits of several of the baby baths that we sell here at Baby Brands Direct is that they can be folded down and stored away. Many homes, especially those where younger couples live, only have one family bathroom, and new parents don’t necessarily want the whole room taken over by baby equipment. After all, it may be the only place where they can get away from it all themselves, and no one really wants to stare at a baby bath and bath toys when they’re enjoying a long soak in a relaxing, luxurious bubble bath.
We have two different kinds of foldable baths - the Boon Naked 2-Position Collapsible Bath is suitable from newborn to toddler age. Its light grey and white colourway is designed to fit into modern colour schemes, and it has been designed to cradle a small baby's head, and then be used as the baby becomes a toddler.
Infantino and Munchkin have cute inflatable baths - in the shape of a whale and duck respectively - both designed to help toddlers transition into a big bath. These are also fabulous for taking away on holiday or when visiting relatives - especially if you are staying somewhere that only has a shower. Babies up to a year will be held safe and kept comfortable in the Munchkin Sit & Soak Dual Stage Tub. It also has a sleek, modern design, so that it doesn’t look out of place in a modern bathroom, and a handle that also acts as a storage hook so that it can be hung out of the way when the grown-ups want their bathroom back!
Why is it important to bathe babies?
Babies may not really get that dirty - and certainly not as grubby as a toddler or preschooler! - but getting them in a bathtime routine is a useful part of a daily routine that will help them feel safe and secure. Sometimes they may really need a bath - perhaps after an explosive nappy, or once they are exploring solid foods and are wearing more than they are eating! But a gentle daily bath can be a lovely time to wind down after the day, get ready for sleep, and for grown-ups to enjoy some bonding time with the baby too.
