Spring Summer 2017 sees the launch of many new product lines from Mattel at Baby Brands Direct, across their range of licenses and product categories; all with the top quality and functionality the brand is famous for.
Fisher-Price
A dream come true for retailers and consumers alike; we now have a Pink Fisher-Price Jumperoo! Boasting all the top features including 360 degree seat rotation, overhead toys spinners, clackers, beads, mirrors and more, all in a sweet animal friends theme.
Another great addition is the Puppy n Pals Learning Gym that has key features covering, tummy time activities, first words and colours and has a take along Puppy with a light up nose and soft activation pad that can be used in 2 modes, ‘Look and Listen’ for 20+ minutes of continuous music and ‘Explore and Discover’ for action based rewards of words, sounds and phrases. With 2 soft removable arch toy bars including a total of 6 toys and crinkle sounds to discover on the mat this gym ticks all the boxes.
Also back in stock is the popular Royal Potty that has longevity of use, as it easily converts from potty to step stool. The built in handles help toddlers feel comfortable and secure on the potty, and the splash guard helps prevent mess with the added benefit of an easily removable bowl making cleaning a breeze.
Shimmer and Shine
A nickelodeon hit animated series that follows the magical adventures of two genie twin sisters Shimmer and Shine. Leah is their human friend who they grant 3 wishes to every day but whose wishes are not always successfully delivered and hence the show centres on problem solving and team work within the stunning land of Zahramay Falls.
Each sister has its own distinctive personality traits and appearance; Shimmer has blue eyes and pink hair, is optimistic and encouraging, loves cleaning, glitter and collecting genie bottles. Sister Shine has purple eyes and blue hair, often hungry and loves animals through which she imparts lots of knowledge about the creatures in their surroundings.
New from Mattel this season, are both sisters Shimmer and Shine as 30cm dolls, available to purchase individually, that says phrases and sing songs from the show when hugged.
Also available is the stunning Palace, which comes with both sisters and also their pets Nahal and Tala. The elaborately decorated play set comes with phrases and songs from the show as well as a magical surprise, when placing either sister with the holder and pressing the ‘jewel’ she will float up and down. A flying carpet set and genie boat are also due to be added to the range soon.
My First Thomas
Mattel has just introduced a new range of Thomas lines specifically for the baby and nursery category, ‘My First Thomas’ which features softer colors and even sweeter faces for more age appropriate appeal.
First in are the ‘Roll and Pop’ assortment – assortment of 3, rolls them along to hear and see the rattles.
The ‘Thomas Flipster’ is an engine that rolls forward and does a 360 degree flip!
Baby Brands Direct’s favourite is the ‘Get Up and Glow’ – little ones can enjoy light shows, music, sounds and phrases appropriate to the chosen day or night mode.
Also new and bound to keep little ones on the move is the ‘Bubble Delivery‘ push along toy that generates bubbles out from Thomas’ funnel as it pushed!

The BeatBo Phenomena
Expanding on the super hit televised ‘BeatBo Bug’ toy, Mattel have introduced additional lines to cater for lower age groups.
Starting with the ‘Beats Junior Assortment’ from 6months it is a smaller size than the Beatobo Bug and ideal for take along fun and with its interactive dance, lights and tunes, it helps develop fine motor skills, sensory stimulation and cognitive ability.
The ‘Buggies Assortment’ available in 3 colours are little chunky vehicles, suitable from 9months and focus on cause and effect, coming to life with lights and music when pushed.
Also new to Baby Brands Direct in the range is the ‘Dance and Move BowWow’. A super cute doggie, whose tail lights up and wags, and head bobs and ears wiggle to the beat! Retail staff will surely be unable to resist a dance in their stores with these toys!

This season consumers are being spoilt with 5 new toys in the range and for the first time a Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Jumperoo! Featuring all the features you expect from a Fisher-Price entertainer it also has 2 modes of play: Musical (music, sounds and lights) and Early Learning (sing-along songs, words linking to animal sounds in a choice of 4 languages.
The new toys include the ‘Microphone’ – a first taste to stardom, the karaoke style toys teaches colours, the alphabet, counting 1-20, opposites & parts of the body and in its second mode of play little ones can record and play back their voice with fun effects. The Piano features 2 modes of play, Learning (phrases and sounds) and Music (make own music or hear classics).
Featuring smart stages technology that grows with the child’s development stages by switching between 3 level modes (6 months, 12 months, 18 months plus) include a ‘Purse’, ‘Piggy Bank’ and ‘Record Player’. The lesson in geography is aimed at preschool ages 4-6, and teaches facts about countries and environments through songs and music.

Mega Bloks New License Range
The Mega Bloks range of construction toys are a close second to the market share leader in this category and well known for its slightly larger bricks, excellent packaging and far more appealing price. Since being acquired by Mattel, the brand has added to its toy range the licences available to it including Blaze and the Monster Machines, and Thomas and Friends.
Stores can now access the ‘racin railways wagon’ which is a 2 in 1 – wagon pull along and racing set which little Thomas fans can play with. Also new in that range is the Sights of Sodor, a 15pcs set including Thomas in a branded carry along bag.
For the Blaze and Monster Machine enthusiasts there is the Truck Assortment, playset with Truck, Axle City Carwash, Jungle Balancing Stunt – the later the cream of sets with a level ramp that teaches balancing while having lots of fun!

Barbie’s convertible is back with a 2017 refresh of an additional sparkle feature on its ‘paint work’. Her vehicle popularity has lead to the addition of her own SUV too and in sugar sweet pastels for the first time at Baby Brands Direct we have Barbie’s Bike and Moped with accessories.
