During the 1960s, Fisher-Price introduced a range of toys which included people and animal figures along with various play sets such as a house, farm, school, garage and vehicles. The figures and playsets were originally produced in wood, creating peg-style characters. The range, then called ‘Play Family’ was hugely popularly and production was later carried out with moulded plastic enabling use of brighter colours and detailed product features.

All about personality, ‘Little People. Big Discoveries’ is still one of Fisher-Price’s best-known and loved lines. The range harnesses the development of imagination and creativity through role play; with toys that are interactive and feature sing along songs and character sounds, little ones are lost in a world of imagination. Their minds are stimulated, they learn to think, act out scenarios, build social skills when playing with friends and discover the cause and effect of their exploration and movement. Supply of these iconic Fisher-Price toys is available from UK wholesaler Baby Brands Direct.
