Tummy Time Supports

Tummy time is an essential part of a baby’s development, helping baby strengthen muscles and coordinate their movements in a safe and comfortable way. Tummy time is when parents allow their baby to lay on their tummy, so that they can get used to being in this position and explore the ways they can move their head, limbs and neck. The NHS recommends tummy time to give young children an entry way into sitting and crawling. However, to begin with, tummy time can be a little overwhelming and strange for young babies and they may find it difficult to lift their heads or find it uncomfortable to lie on their stomachs.

Therefore, a number of brands have created tummy time supports to give children an extra helping hand and additional encouragement during this important stage in their development. Baby Brands Direct offer a range of tummy time supports, available at competitive wholesale prices. These supports are an excellent addition to any nursery store’s inventory, complementing other nursery products like gyms and playmats. Each item boasts its own unique features - from engaging sounds to fun and engaging toys.

Why are tummy time supports so popular with parents?

Tummy time is the time that a baby spends on their tummy when they are awake and it’s important for their development, enabling them to build their gross motor skills so that they are able to move properly as they grow. Tummy time is essential for helping to build the muscles baby needs for sitting and crawling, which will eventually lead to them being able to walk and run. Parents can start doing tummy time from birth, as long as they keep their eye on baby and ensure they are not left unattended. The NHS state that tummy time should be done in small increments of time, which gradually increase as baby gets more and more comfortable and active.

Tummy time supports are perfect for when parents want their little one to enjoy some tummy time on the floor. When baby has difficulty lifting their head, these supports are great for providing extra stability and comfort, giving them something to rest on that still elevates their body and supports their exploration. Tummy time supports also help children get their arms in the correct position for crawling and supporting their natural instinct for movement. These supports also feature different accessories and toys for children to reach out for, giving them the opportunity to reach and grab - thus developing their eyesight and fine motor skills. Since tummy time is an integral part of playtime for a growing baby, parents are on the lookout for items that will aid their little one in their development.
